How to have amazing conversations !!!

"There is no reason to learn to show you are paying attention, if you are in fact paying attention." Celeste Headlee

Love this TED talk. Relationships are inevitable in our everyday life, whether it be work, home, school, love or family. Good communications skills should be taught in much greater length to everyone and not just those who need to as part of there jobs. Do your self a favour and learn to have amazing conversations and you will have better relationships...ergo a better life.

Well worth the twelve minutes today.

Kratum a natural replacement to methadone?

We always need to be skeptical of what we read and see in the media, so objectively watch the attached video. This looks like yet another way that big pharma and government (money made from the war on drugs) are trying to pull the wool over our eyes and control something that mother nature provides us with naturally. They have to create some sort of control over things that they cannot patent $$$. I sincerely hope that Canada does not follow suit on the actions of the US and we follow the correct channels of education and proper research.

"Cure" Is a poor choice of words to use in the title of the attached video. Potentially life saving, yes!

"Schedule 1 drugs are those that have the following characteristic according to the United States Drug Enforcement Agency: The drug or other substance has a high potential for abuse. The drug or other substance has no currently accepted medical treatment use in the U.S."

Breaking the cycle!!!

There is something so amazing and beautiful when you get to see how your pain and your past may have effected others in a positive way. I am proud to say that my son started a meditation group and a mental health group at his high school and was presented with this award for his leadership and commitment to safety. He humbly told me today .."oh yeah, by the way I was presented a plaque at school yesterday." Whether or not it is a direct result of his family life and his fathers struggles with mental health and addiction I'm not sure. What I do know is this young man is helping to break the cycle of stigma, acceptance and the need for mental health awareness. Literally, this brings tears to my eyes. Lets hope that we can make things like this an educational award and not "safety" award and make our school more proactive not reactive in the area of mental health. ‪#‎im1in5‬‪#‎strengthfrompain‬ ‪#‎proudfather‬

Purpose

Most people I know have seen this video or a variation of it at one point or another. It is truly inspiring and I am sure the message is heard differently by many. What I hear is, have faith that when you're doing what is best for the world, what you love, what you're good at, then you have found your purpose.  Do it fearlessly!
